Rare Air Studios is stocked with a wide variety of microphones, preamps, compressors, software, and in-house instruments all of which are available to help make your recording the best that it can be. Microphones Rare Air has a large microphone cabinet which houses large and small diaphragm condeners, dynamic mics and a variety of special purpose mics as well. Mics by Neumann, AKG, Audio Technica, Sennheizer ,Shure, Crown, and MXL are all available for your session. Outboard: Preamps by Avalon, Focusrite, Art Dual MP, Aphex tubeessence , & Mackie. Compressors by Avalon Tube 737sp , Dbx 160(2),Dbx 1066 stereo, Symetrix stereo, TC Electronics, as well as a multitude of software plugins including the Waves Diamond & Gold bundles . Reverb/Effects by Lexicon MPX1, Alesis Quadreverb 2, Alesis Microverb 4, Waves plug-ins, and several more (see software list). Equalization TC Electronics Finalizer , Avalon 737 tube EQ, Mackie Parametric EQ, many software plug-ins (see list). Recorders Pro Tools 7, Logic Pro 7, Alesis Adat XT (transfers), Sony DAT, Hhb CD Recorder, Denon Cassette dub deck . In-house instruments Kimball 5'9" Grand Piano, 2 Ludwig Vintage drum kits (jazz) and a DW pop/fusion drum kit, Zildjian Cymbals, Korg Triton Studio, Radium 49 controller for software instruments, LP congas and a huge list of latin percussion instruments. All instruments are available to the client at no additional charge. Guitar Effects Line 6 Pod, Rocktron Intellifex guitar multi-effects, Ampeg V4 Head and speaker stack .
